Getting started
Open Solmari and complete the short welcome. On first launch:
- iPhones with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro and newer, iOS 26+) are ready to chat instantly — no download.
- Other devices download a one-time on-device AI model (about 2 GB) so Solmari can run fully offline afterward. Stay on Wi‑Fi; you'll get a notification when it's ready, and you can keep exploring in the meantime.
After setup, type a message — or tap the microphone to speak — and Solmari responds, completely on your device.
Frequently asked questions
Is Solmari really private?
Yes. Your conversations, questions, and documents never leave your iPhone. The AI runs on-device, and there is no account and no server that receives your content.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Once the on-device model is ready, Solmari works fully offline — on a plane, on the subway, or anywhere with no signal. An internet connection is only needed for the one-time model download on devices without built-in AI.
Why is there a download on first launch?
To run privately and offline, Solmari needs its AI model stored on your device. Devices with Apple Intelligence already include one, so there's no download. Other devices download it once (~2 GB); after that, no internet is required.
The download is slow or stuck.
Model downloads are large. Connect to Wi‑Fi, keep the app open, and ensure you have enough free storage. If it stalls, fully close and reopen the app to resume.
What are personas?
Personas are one-tap modes — Assistant, Tutor, Coder, Editor, and Brainstorm — that steer how Solmari responds. Pick one when you start a chat.
Can I chat with my documents?
Yes. Attach a text file and ask questions about it. Retrieval happens on-device, so the document never leaves your phone.
Are the answers always correct?
Solmari runs a compact on-device model, so like all AI it can occasionally be wrong. Please double-check anything important, and don't rely on it for medical, legal, or financial decisions.
How do I free up space?
You can delete the app to remove the downloaded model. Reinstalling will download it again on first launch.
